The following presentation, from OopenOffice.org Conference 2007, talks about the future plans they have for OOo 3.0. One of the key factors is the inclusion of Mozilla Thunderbird as PIM (Personal Information Manager) with the office suite. Another one is the support for importing MS Office XML documents. I am not sure whether it is there already with 2.3, but in future release there is also a Web 2.0 integration. One thing for sure I would love to see is UI change, perhaps a little more slicker (both for Qt3/4 and Gtk) and more productive (somehow). The expected release is set for somewhere in Summer 2008.
