With Opera’s imminent release of Opera Mobile 9.5 for the Windows Mobile platform, the best in its’ class, Mozilla is showing off some new screenshots of Mobile Firefox. As this segment is getting hotly contested with newcomers such as Skyfire, Netfront with its’ 3.5 tech review, Iris browser and mobile version of Safari, I guess Mozilla has to work hard and fast. As for me, the best, till final Opera Mobile 9.5 is deployed, Opera Mini 4 running on Java remains the best for my Windows Mobile Pro phone.

I did post news on latest development on Mobile Firefox, which didn’t look, well lets say too great. However, the::unwired has posted some updated screenshots and it looks quite good. You can zoom in by holding and dragging, similar to the pinch and zoom on an iPhone. There is also an embossed Firefox logo on the bottom right of the screen. By tapping on the logo, you will bring up the menu functions. And Mozilla Mobile team even plans to support dedicated Mobile Firefox extensions.

There is no release date announced as of yet and I guess it ain’t coming out this year.
