nvidialogohq5 My Workplaceintelquadcorelogosmqn0 My WorkplaceI have been a long time user of AMD processors and planned on switching to Phenom X4 once available, from my aging Athlon64. But with all the delays, bugs and price/performance issues, it is Intel’s Core 2, a faster micro-architecture with great overclocking potential, and nVidia’s Linux support made me ditch the long time favourite AMD+ATI combo. As for dual or quad, I decided a quad will be a better option, though it is not a true quad core as is Phenom.

As I mentioned earlier on this page (before switching)- “I plan on using their (AMD) product as far as they will stay competitive on price/performance factor, as well as on features that satisfies my needs. Also, as you can notice, I am totally into overclocking, as I am a firm believer of getting maximum from what I have paid for.”
